SHORT GOALKEEPER PROBLEM!?
Heyy guys, I'm 14 years old and i play and LOVE being a keeper, the only problem is im 4′7, i had a medical disease (i had when I was 4 im fine now) that effected my growth my doctors say ill only get to 5′2!!!!!! I love goalie and have no fear of the ball i also have GREAT hands! I have gone through many goalie camps and the trainers have said i have a natural talent playing goalie, i want to play soccer in highschool and even college! Is their a chance for success at my height? If so what should I be working on? What other positions should I try?!! Please dont just say "If you love it do it" thats very true I love the beautiful game but is it realistic at my height?!
Of course it is. I am a goalkeeper and I am very short for my age. I'm 16 and 5'3. Being short has advantages as well so yes you can be a short goalkeeper. You can be a success, but it will be difficult for you. I am not selected as school goalkeeper because of my height.
