Club Teams
What is the attitude of German people to the club teams that played during the Third Reich?
Do people feel that they can celebrate the successes of good German club teams from this era, despite the regime they played under? Are records kept of the league in these years?
If any of us younger Germans knew anything about achievements from before the war, we probably would not get enthusiastic about it, because our education system has conditioned us into strictly rejecting absolutely everything that happened in that era. Owning paraphernalia from that era will put you in jail, and even showing an interest in it will denotate you as a Neonazi; and no one wants to be that, only our hooligans. So, no, that era is a no-go zone for us young ones, who ar, in effect, members of a different, better, and artificially created country than our forefathers were.
