The object of recreational football is to offer a chance for the participators to have fun, learn the sport and develop life talents including a life long love of the game. Recreational football is a football program that's primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of football players without the focus on travel or high level competition. In recreational football a player is randomly assigned to a team without regard to his / her capabilities and skills. Teams are formed at random to play soccer.

So what does "recreational soccer" actually mean?. You will have heard the term before, but do you know what recreational soccer is?.

There are no legal definitions, no U.S. youth soccer rules or policies.  One of the most often used terms is one of the least defined. Football has made a new meaning for The word recreational. US Youth football does supply a partial definition in its policy on players and playing rules in the definitions section when it states :
Recreational league means an intraclub league in which
A.  The employment of tryouts, invitations, hiring, or any similar process to roster players is not allowed.
B.  The club managing the league accepts as participants in the league any eligible
kids ( subject to reasonable terms on registration )
C.  A system of rostering players is used to build a fair or balanced distribution of playing talent amongst all teams participating.
D.  League rules require that each player must play at least one-half of each game excepting reasons of injury, sickness, or discipline.

Some common perceptions of recreational soccer are :
